An Honorary Department Member is a distinguished individual who has been recognized by our department for their exceptional contributions, support, or long-standing relationship, even though they may not be or have been a formal, paid employee or volunteer within the department.

This title is a mark of high esteem, bestowed upon those who have significantly impacted our work, advanced our mission, or provided invaluable expertise and advocacy. Honorary members often include:

  • Retired Faculty or Staff: Individuals who have dedicated their careers to our department and continue to offer guidance and wisdom.

  • Community Leaders: Those who have fostered strong partnerships between the department and the wider community.

  • Donors or Benefactors: Individuals whose generous support has enabled critical research, programs, or facilities.

  • External Collaborators: Experts from other institutions or industries who have partnered with us on significant projects.

While honorary members typically do not have the same responsibilities or obligations as regular staff or volunteers, they may be invited to participate in special events, offer advice, share their expertise, or simply maintain a valued connection to our departmental community. Their inclusion enriches our department and acknowledges their lasting legacy or ongoing commitment.
